We had Constable Paul MacKenzie in to school today to talk to us about his job. We looked at some pictures he had. We also saw his gun and some other weapons that he had. We were all scared by his loud siren and were allowed to look inside his car. He told us that the colours of the cars are soon going to be changed to yellow instead of orange.

We had Pauline from St John's in today and she talked to us about what to do in an emergency. She put some awesome fake blood on Maddox and taught us about what to do if he had a nose bleed. We all need to learn our addresses and phone numbers and especially those long cell phone numbers to be able to contact our families if we are in an emergency situation.
We also looked at Amby and each took home a certificate and pack with stickers, magnet, pencil, a newletter and brochure to read through. It was neat fun.

Hey there,
Room 8 has been doing lots of neat things this week. We were lucky enough to visit the Picton library to watch the Natural Magic Pirate Show.
Here we are with the Captain, saying "Ahhaa"
... and here is the Captain with Midget the Mouse. Midget is balancing cheese on his nose!! It was a great show and we all enjoyed it very much. Thanks very much to Luke's Nana, Shanette for helping us walk to the Library. We didn't get too wet!!
